Jesti u inostranstvu s celijakijom ili alergijom na hranu
Jezička barijera pretvara upravljano stanje u kockanje. Rješenje je uglavnom logističko i vrijedi ga primijeniti prije nego što krenete.
Šta EU pravila pružaju
Četrnaest glavnih alergena — uključujući žitarice koje sadrže gluten — mora biti deklarisano širom EU, u pakovanoj hrani i u uslužnoj hrani. Pravila su dovoljno uniformna da putnik s celijakijom koji se kreće između država članica ima isti okvir označavanja, što je značajna i nedovoljno cijenjena prednost.
Ono što varira je sprovođenje, kako uslužna hrana otkriva (usmeno, na meniju, u fasciklu), i kulturna upoznatost sa stanjem. Neke zemlje imaju visoku javnu svijest o celijakiji; druge to tretiraju kao preferencu.
Praktični sistem
- Nabavite karticu za prevođenje na lokalnom jeziku, koja medicinski navodi stanje, imenuje šta se mora izbjegavati i spominje zajedničke friteze i površine. Kartica ide u kuhinju; izgovorena rečenica ne ide.
- Naučite čitati listu sastojaka, a ne jezik. Alergeni su tipografski naglašeni širom EU, tako da ih možete pronaći bez čitanja ostatka.
- Rezervišite smještaj s frižiderom i kuvalom. To pretvara teško putovanje u običan.
- Ponesite sigurnu hranu za putne dane. Aerodromi, stanice i duga putovanja su mjesta gdje ljudi bivaju uhvaćeni.
- Pronađite lokalnu celijak ili alergijsku asocijaciju. Većina evropskih zemalja ima jednu, nekoliko objavljuje liste mjesta.
- Ponesite dovoljno lijekova — uključujući auto-injektore adrenalina gdje je to relevantno — i nosite pismo o receptu.
Osiguranje i dokumentacija
Provjerite da li putno osiguranje pokriva vaše stanje i nosite dokumentaciju o bilo kojim lijekovima u originalnom pakovanju s pismom o receptu. Unutar EU, Evropska zdravstvena kartica pokriva neophodnu državnu medicinsku njegu, što nije isto kao putno osiguranje i ne zamjenjuje ga.
